Bareboat lake Tahoe?

Anyone have any info or experience with bareboating on Lake Tahoe?

I have never chartered anything there so I keepa my mouth shut.   Sailing is pretty meager there, because typically the wind is so unpredictable.

Also apparently so is the ability to bareboat, one of the few places I found

True, he did lose his job in Lake County, maybe he is working up there now.

Wow!  I gave these guys a call.  They have an Oday 25, and a Catalina 22... both are

$95 an hour!!!!!

Holy cats, Craig!  Did you move there?  Most people can't get that much done in a year.  As a matter of fact, I got tuckered-out about half way throught the list a had to take a nap.

Seriously though, that looks like a great time.  I am happy you had such a great and fulfilling trip.

Ha, I saw this while we were on our annual trip Out West and couldn't wait to return to make my own list.  We packed a lot into 2 weeks, though never felt rushed to a slave to a schedule (indeed, much of it was spur of the moment "land cruising").

First Leg, Rapid City, SD:

• After flying into Denver, spent day/night with old friends; drove to Rapid City the next morning
  
• Wind Cave
• Bear Country (like a drive-through zoo)
• Mount Rushmore
• Mammoth Site
• Reptile Garden
• Journey Museum (a neat place that covers pretty much the history of the earth to 20th century American)

Second Leg, Colorado:

• Spent Afternoon with old friends
• Spent Night and Morning with my aunt
• Drove to Grand Junction to stay with wife's family
• Fishing at Vega Reservoir; I did not go sailing on the trip, but I got to drive the fishing boat like I do every year
• Wife visited with old friends
• Hiked on Colorado National Monument
• Children helped their Grandpa with wood working projects (he's into making custom wooden toys these days)
• Did 75 miles off-road (including some pretty rough 4x4 terrain) to go to the Little Bookcliffs Wild Horse Range; had a blast just being in some true remote back country, and got to see ONE wild horse.
• Played lots of cards and chess with family we only get to see once per year
• Drove back to Denver to spend a few more days with my Aunt before flying back; drove via Independence Pass, though Fairplay and over Red Rock and Kenosha passes back into Denver.
• Evening visit and dinner with yet another set of old friends. 
• Saw "Hubble" at the IMAX - impressive movie, truly awe inspiring; helped humble us as we contemplate our smallness
• Took the little ones downtown to see 'skyscrapers' up close.  They had never been downtown in a big city before.
• Answered a BUNCH of questions about what it is like living on a boat.

We are still amazed at how by "slowing down" and not TRYING to pack "as much as possible" into our visit, we managed to do and see so much.  And the rich time with family and friends made this one of our best and most memorable vacations we can remember.

Here's to "slowing down" (in spirit) and the SailFar philosophy, even when 'cruising' inland.

Good work John !! To bad we couldn't have crossed paths. Our trip to Alaska was like that. Every evening we decided where we were to go the next day. Saw most of the Alaskan seaports, Denali and the Rockies from the Yukon to the Tetons.
